It's getting hot in here....

Well guys it was probably the most miserable week so far. But only miserable because it was soooooooo hot!!! Like yesterday we went to a lunch appointment after church and i sat down and i was like instantly wet!!! And its not like you can do anything about it everywhere where i tried to go it was hot!! So i just had to get use to it i guess :) But my week was pretty great besides that :) And the funny thing is is that last monday it was cold like cold cold it was so nice then the next day i woke up just hot hahah :) weather is so weird! anyways

Well this week was pretty good not to bad not to great :) just another week :) But Ill try my best to write something hahah :)

Well This week we went to a dinner appointment and right there on the spot someone asked for a blessing. Its kinda a nervous thing when someone just askes for a blessing right there on the spot but the lord works in mysterious ways and i knew that everything would be ok. The only thing that i struggle with when giving a blessing is the names they always are difficult to me haaha because there are so many clicks in them but its fun to say once you get it :) But i truly am grateful for the priesthood
i always loved getting blessing whether it was for the new school year or if it was for when i was injured:) Its a powerful thing that truly comes from god! ITS MAGICAL :) hhaha

So i got sun burnt pretty good on Saturday:) we did service for the Portdurnford Branch president. We helped him dig the foundation of his new house he is building So we dug and dug and dug and it was really hot but a great cool experience to learn how they build a house and how they start a house!
We also helped paint another members window frames this week so im learning alot of useful things other then just gospel :) a mission is totally worth it :)

Well There is another family that i want to talk about this week :) They are the Butlezis and they are well known in this mission! Because they are the best family to go to if having a bad day or just if you want to stop by and say hi! They feed us every Thursday and they make great food :) we are spoiled in this area we have alot of members who make us feel like we are home whenever we visit :) They have a daughter who went on a mission so they know how we feel if we get a bunk day or just need to relax for a bit. They always have cold cold coke for us and usually brownies hahah :) so i gotta watch my weight :) i need to workout more hahah :)

So here when someone is having a wedding it like a huge huge Three day party!!!! Its actually really really cool anyways one night this week we went home and realized that our driveway had been blocked off because someone was having a bridal shower and they just but up a huge tent in the middle of the road and were partying! There was a DJ that played all night long just blasting house music :) hahah we woke up the next day and they were still going hard hahah :) It was fun to watch all the drunk grandpas boogie hahah :) good memories :)

Well yesterday was Easter ( does anyone else think it was weird that Easter was in march??? ) whatever hahah well there were huge tents like carnival tents that were set up for other churches. EVERYONE went to church no matter what on easter sunday so that was cool :) but other then that not much for a missionary :) we got a easter Egg at church and later that night a wonderful family had a braii for us :) alot of meat my favorite :) hahah

Great NEWS!!!! Our mission president told us this week that we are able to go to the ground breaking of the Durban temple on April 9th!! IM SO EXCITED all the missionaries in the mission are going!!! We are going to be ushers so if its on TV look you might see me hahah :):)

Well thats about it for this week :) im good and enjoying my mission!!! I hope everyone has a great week and hopefully you had a great Easter!!!
The church is true homies!!! :)

6 Months!!! ( for real, this time)

Hi Everyone :):) Well this week was great It was officially Click week ( the 6 month mark) no I know I have been saying that I was six months old hahah but now I'm officially 6 months on mission and its crazy :)  So on mission the tradition is to burn a tie on 6 months... so that's what me and elder lesueur did :) Since we are in the same group :)

So last week I know I sent a short letter so throughout the week I was thinking about what I could talk about that was different and something that I haven't shared yet. So I think I'm going to start with the usual. The work, the up, and downs. So here we go :)

There are a lot of wonderful members in the area like I have previously mentioned but i want to tell you guys about the one family:) The Mondlanes!! now this is the best family on mission that i think ill ever have!! They are so fun to be with and so nice to us missionaries. Every Tuesday Friday and Saturday we go to there house. Tuesday the missionaries have the lesson, Friday the mondlanes have the lesson for the missionaries, and Saturday its kind of like our free time with them. They make us amazing dinner and we just play games, its nice as a missionary just to relax and have some fun with a member family :) So if you have missionaries coming over to your house just know that sometimes a missionary loves it when some nights are just chill nights a time to feel like they are at home... :)

Our investigators are doing great :) They are all still progressing and striving to change there lives and follow Christ more :) Its and amazing thing to see :) certainly strengthens my testimony as well :)

This week another sad experience happened... We went to give someone a blessing who was struggling a lot.... We got there expecting something completely different.... We got there and the person that we gave the blessing to was on the couch just struggling to breath and you could tell she was in  alot of pain.... They had told us that she had been sick often and so we tried the best we could to help her.... We gave the blessing...... she passed away two hours later...she was about 35..... Its a real faith shaker when those kind of things happen but we all know that the lords knows best so we just got to move on.

No onto some good stuff :) Well we bike everywhere and we kind out have a certain route that we do everyday. And every time we pass this certain house there is always a dog waiting for us and right when we pass it jumps over the fence and chases us. We pedal as fast as we can right before the house so we have enough momentum to keep us going while we put our feet up so the dog doesn't bite our feet. You would be supersized how many dogs I've been chased by but the funny thing is, is if you turn and face the dog they get intimidated especially if you pretend that you are picking up a rock then they run away dogs are just nuts hahaha :)

Speaking about dogs :) The Mondlanes got a new puppy and its the funniest little thing to play with. The puppies here are about 75 Rand depending on who is selling it and what kind of dog obviously but 75! That's like 3 US dollars. I want one..... ahahha

We had our interviews with our mission president that went well :)It was the last time I will have a long interview with him. He leaves in about 3 months then we get another mission president. President Zackrison is honestly one of the greatest guys I've met and me and him have gained a great relationship. Its sad to see him go but I'm sure he is happy I mean he has been serving for three years........

So I hurt my foot....... I was bare footed and dropped a tire on it.... i know that's random but yeah that's what happened. The kids like to play with tires and roll them around and use them a goals for soccer and all sorts of things.... So i was rolling a tire.... a big one... and dropped it on my bare foot.... Yeah and on my bad ankle but its all good just another cool scare hahah :) sorry mom :)

Well that's about it for the week :) i hope that you guys have another great week :) And for the people reading this off of my blog that my family is doing for me....... WHATS UP PEEPS!!!!!! :)

It's raining, it's pouring, and the Elders are still working!

Well this week was pretty great, but not much to talk about. Of course here at the bay something always happens. And of course it is blazing hot, but its been raining the past couple of days..... I MEAN RAINING!!!!!! AFRICA RAIN FO SHOW!!!! Its actually pretty fun to ride bikes in it as well :):)

The work is going great and im loving it like I usually say. Honestly I'm going to be honest not much to say this week.

Oh Elder Jena replaced Elder Benissan. He is from Zimbabwe so him and chitate speak in there language all the time :) Jena has about two months left on mission he is a very great missionary and a super fun guy to be around he is a rapper and loves just rapping randomly ahahh :) we are having alot of fun in richards bay and alot of us are working really hard and enjoying every second :)

I sent pictures of a cockroach and a usually normal dinner plate :) also some other pics :) I hope that everyone has a great week :) sorry for a bogus email but yeah bye bye :)

Hello from the other side!

Hello from this side :) this week was great! A lot of news and things happened this week transfers, kick out, cock roaches, funeral, chickens, package basically had it all this week :)

So I'm just going to go straight to the point not a lot of time on the computer today :) So

KICKED OUT- This week we had exchanges, so i went to another area for the day with elder lisombee he is from Idaho. Anyways we went to one of there investigators. The family was super nice super welcoming and everything. We talk about where I'm from and all the beginning stuff, Then we started the prayer, when we started everything was fine just a normal prayers but then when we opened our eyes the grandpa or dad was sitting right next to lisombee. He just looked at us and he was like "what did i say last time....... I have my own church and I don't want you to ever come back do you understand me.... so you can follow me out or else you can follow me around to the back.... So we got up and left, and it was super sad because the family loves us and they were super powerful so hopefully everything will be ok with that family. But that was a crazy situation :)

Cockroaches- Yeah we have them in the boarding they are everywhere!!! But they are everywhere so its not just our boarding so no big deal. They are fun to kill though because sometimes you cant kill them hahahha!!!

Funeral- so this Gogo was old and a powerful member... her sister called us one day and said elders please come give her a blessing, so we went there and we were not expecting much but when we got there we could tell it was serious. We went inside and the lady was basically gone we could tell. But she was still alive we gave her a blessing and i was able to do the oil then elder benissan gave a powerful powerful blessing. The gogo passed away about three hours later so that was hard to take in.... But it was amazing to see the whole entire branch ( about 60 active members) come together and planned a wonderful funeral. Saturday we were super involved with the funeral. the missionaries carried the body to the viewing and the burial site. We were able to help bury the body and then we were treated like VIP we were feed super great food. Goat, chicken, rice, juice, dessert, the whole bunch it was very very great!!! A very powerful family and amazing funeral you could definitely feel something.

Chickens- Well not much but......... THERE ARE SO MANY CHICKENS YOOOOOOOO!!!!! yeah nothing much else to say...... oh I eat bones...... basically everything.... its nice :)

Transfers- So this transfer is already over CRAZY going onto Five now... I'm staying as well as elder chitate there are only three missionaries leaving the zone. Elder Doney, Lisombee, And benissan. So that's not to great but its mission so not much you can do about that. It's said doney is going as well. It was nice to have a piece of home around so i'm going to miss that super cool guy!!!

So a little bit about the work. We are getting more people to teach. The members are helping us a lot!!! We are teaching this super powerful kid hi name is rob. He is 22 And super super smart. He is like a professional chess player as well hahah which if you saw him you would have no idea. He played cricket and rugby so like he is super athletic then he got into chess ahahh. He is awesome asks super powerful questions and is progressing like crazy!!! I love the work its such a blessing!!!

I finally got my valentines package :) hahah I love getting stuff from back home :) so yes mom I got it :) and thank you :)
